Release Me

To continue the trend of gal pop videos we have another disco-centric club banger here called Release Me courtesy of Swedish Idol winner Agnes. She looks like Leona Lewis, but Leona could sure use more songs like this on her next album. Anyway, this song was just released in the UK and it is doing really well already. It's irresistible. The strings are dramatic heck the whole thing is dramatic. The chorus is absolutely fantastic and euphoric, and she sings the hell out of this song. My favorite part is around 3:47 when she starts dancing a little bit because she's kind of an awkward dancer and it is very amusing. Ah, it's just so amazing.

American TV Debut

Lykke Li performed for the first time on American television the other night. She performed my favorite song of hers, Breaking It Up, on Conan O'Brien. Check it out. She is just so cool.

Don't Mess Around With His Love

Swedish singer Juvelen makes awesome 80's tinged pop-funk songs.

His video for his song Don't Mess (first below) was featured on Perez Hilton awhile ago. The song is a sparse, super funky groove, and the video features some crazy cool dancing.

Another great song of his is Hanna which has a very Olympics-appropriate video involving synchronized swimming and diving. The music that comes on right after he sings the chorus the first time (at 0:24 when the synchronized swimming starts), is amazing. It sounds like people bouncing around on pogo sticks. This song is pure genius.

He has another song called They Don't Love You which is super 80's especially the chorus with the piano key touches. His falsetto in all these songs makes me so happy.

Lykke Li Again

I know I just posted about Ms. Lykke Li yesterday, but I found these two awesome videos of her performing her sick nasty song "I'm Good, I'm Gone" in a taxi cab and a bathroom. Her voice is really good.

Lykke Li

Swedish songstress Lykke Li releases her debut album, Youth Novels, in the US today! Check her out. I posted some of her songs a few weeks ago. Her voice is very soft and almost delicate sounding, and she's also a wicked good dancer.
