Penelope Cruz wins Best Supporting Actress and gives an eloquent and beautiful speech. I could listen to her speak Spanish all day long. Also, beautiful gown.


Dustin Lance Black wins Best Original Screenplay. Best speech of the night, incredibly moving and personal. I love him.


Hugh Jackman officially needs to host every awards show from now on. His song and dance routine with Beyonce, Zac, Vanessa, Amanda, and Dominic was superb and joyous. Pure old Hollywood musical delight. It made me so happy. Beyonce's entrance was fierce. Of course the number was choregraphed by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann


Hugh's opening number was also fantastic and amusing (especially the thing about The Reader and his Frost/Nixon parody with Anne Hathaway). He is extremely talented. He completely threw himself into this number.

Tidbits

-Kings of Leon are number 1 on the UK charts for a third week in a row, and their new album, Only By the Night, released September 22 there, hit number 1 too. Congrats! I finally watched their performance on last week's SNL and they were really good. Jared's weave looked amazing. By the way, the new album is really, really good. Use Somebody is an epic, anthemic song. This album is definetely much more anthemic than Because of the Times.

-Jennifer Hudson released her debut album today, and it is getting mixed reviews.

-Anne Hathaway hosts SNL this Saturday, and The Killers are the musical guest. I wonder how Anne will do. She's not exactly hilarious.

- OMGGGGGGGGGG! The Gossip Girl boys grace the cover of Details magazine looking fiiiiine except Chace's hair is kinda messed.
