Lovers Electric are an Australian boy-girl duo who make 80's influenced pop music that is quite good. This is a song of theirs called You Got It, and I'm really liking it. The chorus is great. Here's the video.
Pink returns this fall with a new album, and I'm surprised how much I like the beast of a first single So What. I'm not a fan of her, and I always thought her songs were catchy little rock ditties, but this song is like a slap in the face. It is loud and in your face, and the chorus is EPIC. When you don't think the chorus can get any more...ridiculously good, the synths come in, and make it ridiculously great. Well done, Pink.
Vampire Weekend's new single Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa (they have the best song titles) has a funny video that accompanies it. Their music is different and the lyrics are very clever (Can you stay up/ To see the dawn/ In the colors of Benetton? ). I can't tell if they are mocking the preppy style in this video or if this is what they really dress like. They wear preppy clothes for their concerts too. Maybe it's supposed to be ironic. I don't know. Anyway check out the video.
Super cool Canadian, London-based band, Dragonette, make catchy, sexy pop songs. This is their latest video for their song Competition. The video is kind of odd, but the lead singer is a total fierce deeve!
Here's another one of their songs called Take It Like A Man. The video is bizarre and sexual, but it's funny. It's campy and cheesy. Great song.
