The Return of the Boy Band?!

This year has graced us with the return of New Kids on the Block with the catchy yet somewhat creepy single "Summertime" and their follow up "Single", a good slow song, featuring luscious lipped R & B crooner Ne-Yo. The Jonas Brothers have taken over the country and become pop idols with their pop-rock anthems. Then, the UK has graced us with a new boy band, Avenue (below), that is actually really good based on their first song, the bouncy "Last Goodbye" (posted here last month). The lyrics feature some details and nuances and aren't that cliched.

Now we get the return of Menudo, the Latin boy band, that were big years ago. The difference is that there is a new Menudo (above) for the 21st century and their first single, "Lost", is also surprisingly good. I heard this song a few months ago and had mixed feelings, but I heard again on the radio the other day, and it sounded awesome. The beat is really good with the "bow bow dow " sound to it. Also, the boys sing the verses very well, and I like the verses more than the chorus. The bridge is particularly great. Check it out! (sorry YouTube won't let me embed it)
